Kauneutta elämään - Life Made Lovely #6

Turha tavara pois nurkista pyörimästä, voiko olla mitään kauniimpaa? :)
Meillä oli 12 päivää kirpputoripöytä ja saatiin hyvin kaupaksi tavaraa. Joskin mun motto kirpputorimyynnissä on "kunhan pääsisi eroon". Siispä hinnat eivät päätä huimanneet ja ehkä tästä johtuen kauppa kävi mukavasti. Voidaan nyt ostaa uutta tavaraa voittorahoilla :)

Getting rid of useless stuff lying around, is there anything more beautiful? :)
We had a 12-day period of sale at a local flea market and got stuff sold quite nicely. I have a motto concerning flea market sales "if I could get rid of this". So the prices weren't high and perhaps that's why business was blooming. Now we can by more stuff with our winnings :)

Voittorahat oli kyllä vain plussa, koska suurinta nautintoa mulle tuotti se, että sain ne turhat tavarat pois. Ihana tunne, kun sai tyhjemmäksi kaappeja ja hyllyjä. Samalla tuntui, että mielikin siistiytyi vähän. Ja arki on jälleen vähän kauniimpaa.

Money winnings was only a plus side, because the greatest pleasure for me was the fact that I got rid of the useless stuff. I love the feeling of getting some room into closets and shelves. At the same time I felt like my head got a little cleaner too. And life is just a wee pit lovelier.

Kauneutta elämään - Life Made Lovely #5

Mulla on erikoinen mieltymys. Rakastan asioiden selvittämistä. Enkä tarkoita jonkun ongelman tai asian selvittämistä, siitä en niinkään tykkää. Mutta jonkun asian konkreettinen selvittäminen. Se on parasta. Yksinkertaista kauneutta ja mukavuutta elämään :)
Viime aikoina oon saanut harrastaa sitä paljon, kun lankoja pitää keriä vyyhdistä kerälle. Siinä, jos missä tulee sotkuja selvitettäväksi.Kuvassa matonkuteet, joista pitäisi tulla iki-ihana pitsimatto. Se olkoon kaunis asia elämään tulevaisuudessa :)


I have a weird preference. I love untangling things. And I don't mean dealing with a problem or an issue, that I don't prefer at ll. But physical untangling of something. That is the best. Brings a lot of simple loveliness in my life :)
Lately I have been able to act on this preference a lot because I have a lot of yarn I need to roll up. And it sure needs quite a lot of untangling.
In the picture there are rolls of carpet rag to be made in to a beautiful doily carpet. That will be a lovely thing in life someday in the future :)

Muhun ei onneksi niin paljon vaikuta syksyn myötä pimenevä sää, energiaa joko on tai ei, oli ulkona sitten auringonpaiste tai täysi kaamos. Enemmänkin huomaan pimeän vaikuttavan positiivisesti, sillä vihdoin voi polttaa kynttilöitä! Kynttilöistä tulee niin ihana tunnelma, rakastan pelkässä kynttilänvalossa oleilua (jo pelkästään siksi, että sotku näkyy vähemmän :) ). Ostin vielä viikonloppuna ihanan ylisuuren villatakin, jonka sisään on kiva käpertyä sohvalle käsityö sylissä kynttilöiden loisteessa :) Voi mikä idylli, vain takkatuli puuttuu :D

Luckily I am not so much affected by the ever more darkening days of fall, I either have the energy or not, come rain or shine. Actually I feel the darkness affects be in a positive way because finally I can light candles! I love the feeling and cosiness candles bring to a room and I love just sitting in a candlelit room (it also makes the room seem a lot less messy :D ). I bought an oversized cozy cardigan last weekend and it is so nice to sit on the couch with my knittings while the candles burn :) Oh how idyllic, the only thing missing is a fireplace :D

Jos säätiedotuksiin on uskomista, vietetään viimeisiä syksyn päiviä. Huomiseksi ennustettiin nimittäin ensilumen tuloa! Jaiks, ei vaan pysty ymmärtään, että vuosi on jo niin pitkällä ja talvi tulee. No, onneksi se lumi tuskin jää pysyväksi :) Tai sit jää ja tänä talvena kinokset on vielä korkeammat kuin viime talvena.

If you are to believe the weather forecasts the last days of autumn are right now. They say that we might get our first snow tomorrow! Yikes, it is so hard to believe that this year is already coming to an end and winter is here. Well, luckily this snow is very unlikely to stay in the ground :) Or then it does and this winter we will have even more snow than last winter. (Last winter was phenomenal, we had like 3 feet of snow and the temperature was mostly around -10 degrees Fahrenheit!)

No, tänäänpä siis nautittiin Pihlan kanssa täysin rinnoin syksystä meidän jokapäiväisellä kävelyllä. Ihanat värit lehdissä, kaunis auringonpaiste ja kirpsakka ilma. On ihanaa, että vaikka asutaan ihan keskustan tuntumassa, on meillä silti heti vieressä monta puistoa ja Sorsapuisto lampineenkin ihan lähellä. Eikä lähimpään metsäänkään oo kuin 10 minuutin kävelymatka!
Sillä tavalla me saatiin kaunetta tähän päivään.

So today I enjoyed of an autumn day to the fullest with my daughter Pihla on our daily walk. All the lovely colors of the leaves, beautiful sunshine and frisky air. I love the fact that even though we live really close to the city center we still have plenty of parks, like this lovely park called Sorsapuisto (Duckpark in Finnish :) ) with it's pond really close by. And we're only a 10-minute walk away from a forest!
That's the way we got a little loveliness in to this day.

Kauneutta elämään - Life Made Lovely #2

Niinkuin aikamonessa kerrostaloasunnossa, on meidän vessa pieni ja epäkäytännöllinen. Sinne mahtuu juuri tarvittavat eikä mitään ekstraa. Mä niin haluaisin kauniin, tilavan vessan. Ja kylpyammeen! Jalallisen sellaisen.
Siihen asti kun sellaisen saan, tyydyn lisäilemään pienen pieniä yksityiskohtia vessaamme.

As in many of the Finnish appartments, the bathroom in our home is tiny and quite unpractical. It fits everything necessarry and nothing special. I would so love to have a beautiful, spacious bathroom. And a bathtub! With legs.
Until I get a bathroom like that I need to focus on adding little details to our bathroom.

Tällä kertaa kaunistan siis elämää vessassa :) Paljonhan siellä tulee elämää vietettyäkin :) Riisun aina koruni illalla pesujen yhteydessä ja pitkään ne vaan kertyi kasaan. Kunnes löysin ihanan korutelineen. Tää ei sopisi kyllä minnekkään muualle meidän kodissa tyyliltään, mutta vessassa se menee oikein mainiosti ja tekee vessasta hieman kauniimman.

So this time I am making life lovely in the bathroom :) You do spend quite a lot of your life there :) I take my jewelry off every night when washing my face etc and for a long time they just kept piling up. Until I found a lovely jewelry stand. This wouldn't fit our style anywhere else in our home, but in the bathroom it works perfectly, making it a little bit more beautiful. And lovely.

Mä rakastan yksityiskohtia. Rakastan tavallisten asioiden erikoisuudesta, siitä, että ihan tavallinen juttu on kuitenkin jotenkin spessu :)
Jotenkin tulee hyvä mieli, kun joku pieni asia on kaunista tai söpöä tai erityistä.

Life Made Lovely Monday is such a fun thing, I have always put a focus on the little things, making something ordinary a little less ordinary, special in someway. Having this little special thing makes me feel special too :)

Ensimmäinen kuva ja asia kertoo hyvin sen mitä tarkoitan.
Pihla siis syö jo ruokaa ja teen itse tytön sapuskat. Keitän ison annoksen esimerkiksi bataattia ja pakastan annospaloina, jotta myöhemmin olisi helppo saada sopiva annos. No, enhän mä mitään tyhmiä neliöitä halua pakastella ja sulattaa, vaan jotain söpöä! Siispä meillä nautitaan bataattikukkasia :)

My first entry shows my ideology best.
My daughter, Pihla, is now 6 months and has started to eat solids. I prepare the food myself in large quantaties and the freeze it in little proportions to make the serving of it easier. I so didn't want to have boring squares to freeze the food in so now we're serving sweet potato flowers :)
